Intern-EMS System Administrator - Summer 2015

The EMS System Administrator- intern would proivde a variety of technical information technology support services to the System Operations Center (SOC). This role conducts hardware and software maintenance and upgrade work associated with providing reliable, secure and economic interconnected eletric transmission system operations.
System Administration including Computer Hardware Configuration, Cyber Security, Networking Systems, Network Security of the EMS and RTUs
Install, decommission and upgrade, various EMS systems
Provides the system administration function for the EMS computer systems.
Assists with the evaluation of new software and hardware for the EMS computer systems.
Installs, and maintains EMS databases and displays to support user and application requirements
Provides technical support to operations personnel on EMS operation, transmission network security, analysis, simulation, and optimization, supervisory control and data acquisition
Education:
Junior/Senior status with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems/ Information Technology or related discipline.
Must be currently enrolled in college/university program working towards a degree in a related technology discipline.
Physical Requirements:
Executive, administrative or clerical position in which employees is primarily involved with sedentary work, including keyboarding.
Requires occasional lifting objects 10 to 15 pounds and/or light physical activity including bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, reaching, walking, standing and working on irregular surfaces.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
