Intern- Business Development

The internship within the business development department is designed to provide finance and accounting students with an understanding of what it is like to perform competitive transmission solicitations and acquisition analysis in a highly regulated business enterprise.
Develop financial models and analytics in conjunction for projects under development and acquisitions in coordination with the team and other departments in the company
Work on a variety of tasks including project analytics, due diligence and new market analysis as it relates to transmission utilities
Report financial results for assigned projects
Education:
Student pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with at least a junior standing
Experience:
Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles and the ability to apply them
Strong writing and analytical skills
Ability to work within tight deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously
Exceptional Excel skills.
Physical Requirements:
The intern will be primarily involved with sedentary work, including keyboarding, reading, reviewing, and summarizing documents and cases, in an office setting, utilizing a computer and keyboard, as well as other office-related equipment, including but not limited to fax machines, photocopy machines, document scanners and telephones.
The position may also require the occasional lifting objects 10 to 15 pounds and/or light physical activity including bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, reaching, walking, standing and working on irregular surfaces

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
